-Parent Teacher Conferences (2x a year)

-Printed results/data from NWEA testing are sent home to guardians

-DIBELS scores communicated to parents in lower grade levels

-NeSA scores sent to parents

-Powerschool for parents to access grades

-School Website displays our “School Improvement Goals”

-Presented to the school board by administration

-Administration communicates and interprets results to staff

-Administration instructs teachers in how to proctors and access testing and results

– “Annual School Report and Progress” is reported in the local papers

-Parent-Teacher logs on phone calls

-We can do a better job of communicating to stakeholders an appropriate degree of sophistication our results and data to parents and prospective patrons

-Create a Parent-Teacher log for phone calls on communicating data to parents

-Create a universal ‘cheat sheet’ for parents to be able to interpret and understand their student’s data and progress/growth.

-Remind parents in monthly newsletters the availability of Powerschool and attach a sheet on how to access items on Powerschool.

Q1__4___ Rating 4 and 3 were the same so we did a 4, we feel we do monitor comprehensive information about the student learning and achievement of school improvement goals.

Q2__3___ We don’t feel that some of the delivery methods of communicating results is APPROPRIATE for the stakeholders. Some data is hard to interpret for parents or noneducators. We feel we could do a better job of communicating to parents how to interpret the data.

1.  What strategies (documentation) are already in place to meet this standard:

-Progress reports are sent out to parents regularly and used to monitor students.  Parents have access to PowerSchool to check on their student’s grades, etc.  Parents also have access to Moodle where they can check out lesson plans from their student’s teachers as well as assignments/documents for classes.  Special education students also have reports on their strengths and weaknesses which is provided to teachers at the beginning of the year.  Information of student learning is communicated through numerous avenues to stakeholders, parents, other teachers, etc.  Communication also takes place through parent teacher conferences about students success and ways to improve those students who might be struggling.

-How do we measure degree of sophistication for all stakeholder groups?  What do we consider the best way to reach these groups of people and do we receive any feedback if we are or aren’t reaching numerous groups of people.

-Different ways to communicate student learning/success to numerous groups of people

-Communicate student learning and also school improvement goals to stakeholders.

-What is appropriate degree of sophistication?  What are they talking about in this standard?

5.  If necessary, what are the next steps we should take to meet this standard (set goals):

-We should continue to strive for communication at all levels.  Continue to find different ways to communicate to stakeholders as well as determine/measure if communication has been successful.
