Fort Calhoun Junior-Senior High assesses each student’s abilities, aptitudes, and interests so the best possible selection of courses and activities can be made.  In an effort to help a student prepare for his/her occupation of interest, we encourage students to focus their energy on courses that pertain to their distinct interests and talents.

These assessments are used as a part of the process in which we guide students in course selection.  By no means do they define what a student can or cannot achieve, nor do they determine what occupation a student will have when they move beyond our walls.

These are the assessments used for each of our grade levels:

  • Grade 7: NeSA, NWEA
  • Grade 8: NeSA, EXPLORE
  • Grade 9: NWEA
  • Grade 10: PLAN
  • Grade 11: NeSA, NWEA, PSAT, ASVAB, ACT
  • Grade 12: ASVAB, ACT/SAT or Asset

As students prepare for assessments, we encourage them to do the following:

  • Get rest the night before.
  • Eat a healthy breakfast.
  • Bring a positive attitude.
  • Give it your best effort!
