School Reopening Plans revised 7/2021
District Reopening Plan rev. 7/2021

American Rescue Plan Information

Under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021, the United States Department of Education (USED) will make awards to State educational agencies (SEAs) to help schools safely reopen, sustain healthy operations, and address significant academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of their students as the country continues to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

In regards to ESSER funds, Fort Calhoun Community Schools is applying for access to these monies. Once the application is completed and approved the district could potentially receive up to $235,903. This particular grant has a three year duration with all funds used by September 30, 2024. In regards to these particular funds, all monies must be utilized to assist with the mitigation of COVID-19, or the loss of learning with our students.

Moving into the application process, the United States Department of Education has asked that public schools seek input from their stakeholders regarding the use of ARP – ESSER Funds as well as gain input on the district’s return to school plan. FCCS is asking for your input regarding our potential use of ESSER funds and your thoughts as they apply to our COVID-19 related practices for the 2021 – 2022 school year.
