CONCERT STARTS AT 7:00

•CONCERT ATTIRE: MEN: Dress Slacks, shoes, Collared shirt-tucked in- and preferably a tie. WOMEN: LONG Dress/skirt with blouse OR same as men.

Concert starts: 7:00….

ITS THAT FAVORITE EVENT OF THE YEAR, SIGNIFYING SUMMER VACATION IS ALMOST HERE…..COMMENCEMENT !

COMMENCEMENT REHEARSALS FOR GRADES 8-11….

•THURSDAY, April 25 — 7:05 A.M.

•FRIDAY, May 3 — 7:05 A.M.

•Last one will be during school.

•You’re cordially REQUIRED to attend!

Commencement: May 4

The posted report time is 12:37.

DRESS CODE: UNIFORMS.

All equipment will be set up Saturday. •ALL EQUIPMENT MUST BE IN PLACE,

•EVERYONE MUST BE DRESSED

AND IN THEIR SEAT

•WITH THEIR HORN AND MUSIC AT 12:55 FOR WARMUP AND TUNING.

Due to “previous experience,” grades will be SEVERELY DOCKED for those not following the posted schedule.

I recommend the slower you are, the earlier you should plan to arrive. I recommend not arriving late. There is work for all.

Jazz Bands Concert on May 9

Concert at 7:30 p.m. Report time for Jr High will likely be 6:45.

PARENTS: The two best things you can do for your student to help their progress through the first FIVE years of band… 1) Encourage them to take a solo to every contest that is available, and then GET APPROPRIATE HELP to get it learned carefully. 2) Consider private lessons, if possible. Every student has unique playing issues and unique potential that can’t be significantly addressed in a full class rehearsal. (The school is no longer providing weekly individual lessons to junior high students as used to be the case.)

Concert Band Competition at Platteview is on March 22.

It’s time for all out “crunch time” in preparing our parts. Furthermore, Solo and Ensemble contest is four days later… March 26. Most of the solos need A LOT of work and a lot of help!

TIMES/EVENTS/ETC..THE END OF MARCH

The Junior HIgh Concert Band will perform at Platteview Contest on Friday, March 22 at 2:40. The Jazz Band plays later. We will leave somewhere around noon. We will be back somewhere around 6:00. Click here for the specific travel sheet: JR HI Platteview 24

Saturday/Sunday… The Jazz Band performs on the Variety Show at the High School. Report time will be 6:55 on Saturday evening and 2:30 on Sunday afternoon.

Tuesday, March 26…SOLO AND ENSEMBLES perform at Platteview in the afternoon and evening. We will leave sometime during the end of 8th period. Current estimate is to be back 8:45-9:00. Look sharp for your solo. Basic concessions will be available at their school.

REPORT TIME FOR SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17…..

CHRISTMAS CONCERT! –about 1:45…

Be IN YOUR SEAT in the gym WITH your HORN AND MUSIC by 2:00 for a short dress rehearsal. Don’t forget your cookies.

(Senior High comes at 12:45. You may come any time after that.)

Don’t forget to invite Grandpa and Grandma!
