Fort Calhoun Chapter

National Honor Society

The National Honor Society (NHS) was formed to recognize outstanding achievement in high school students.  The NHS recognizes overall excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.  The  Fort Calhoun Chapter of the National Honor Society strives to select those students who have developed and utilized their abilities in all four of these areas.

Members are selected yearly in the spring form Sophomore, Junior, and Senior class members who have met the 3.5 minimum grade point average.  These students are notified to fill out the application sheet linked here. (Add link to application)  Then, a faculty group meets to determine if students have fulfilled all four criteria listed previously. Emphasis is placed on involvement in clubs, groups, or sports, the leadership positions taken, and the overall participation in work and the community.  Volunteer hours highly impact your selection into NHS, as well as look favorable on scholarship applications when you are a senior.
