COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Advanced Spanish will review, reinforce, and expand the communication skills learned at the previous level. More advanced exercises require original composition work and self-instruction through personal investigation of the Spanish language. Spanish journal and computer use enables students to advance more independently. The workbook and CD exercises involve listening to Spanish and responding orally, reading Spanish, and writing original compositions for each chapter. Authentic Spanish literature is introduced at this level. The third and fourth year level students teach Spanish at the elementary school one class period per week for approximately three quarters of the school year. A cooperative project relating to the Spanish or the Hispanic culture will also be completed. This course would be helpful for students in all careers.

Grading: Class participation, daily work, quizzes, major projects, and tests.

Presentation: Lecture, discussion, film, video, Internet, student presentations, group work, performance, student projects, demonstrations, speakers.
