Hoops For Heart
This year, the Elementary school PE students did a fundraiser for Hoops for Heart. Hoops for
Heart is a fun event where kids can play basketball, learn about their heart and how to stay
healthy, while raising money for the American Heart Association. Furthermore, throughout the
course of two weeks, the students learned and practiced different basketball skills; including,
dribbling, shooting, passing, man-to-man and zone defense. In the end the Elementary students
raised $5,140 for Hoops for Heart. Tilden Nottleman collected the most donations with a total of $500. Great job to everyone that participated!

The project started before the fish eggs arrived in January and has included research writing, communicating with schools across the country in a quilt square exchange, and will culminate with a field trip to release the fingerings raised in the classroom tank.
