COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will instruct students on the operation of (Computer Aided Drafting) software systems used in the drafting and manufacturing fields. Students will learn to interpret many different types of drawings and be able to use this information to convert a complex machine part into a working drawing. Students will also extend their skills in architectural and civil areas. Mode of presentation: lecture, group work, demonstrations and lab work. Grading procedures: tests, quizzes, lab projects, and daily work. Student skills and knowledge to be gained: to demonstrate skills and knowledge in mechanical, architectural, and civil drawing; to develop confidence in solving complex drafting problems; to identify hidden features in various drawings; to demonstrate quality work with emphasis on accuracy; to incorporate math and English skills in conveyance of drawings; to attain a vocabulary in alignment with design careers.
