Mrs. Leishman’s Voyager Readers performed The Best Christmas Pageant Ever play by Barbara Robinson. Parents, family, friends, Kindergarten- 6th graders, teachers, and support staff were in attendance. This is a fun tradition that has been happening for at least 13 years. This year we collected canned goods for the food pantry.
Aunna Raye Morford collected over 90 coats, along with hats, gloves and boots for the Salvation Army. The items were collected from the high school and elementary schools during the month of December. Thank you to all who donated! Drama Club will have a community performance of their One-Act Play titled Goldilocks on Trial December 8, at 3pm in the high school gym. There will be a $3.00 admission charge for adults – students and children are free. There will also be light refreshments provided following the performance. Congratulations One-Act cast and crew for receiving runner-up in the Capitol Conference Play competition. In addition, outstanding performance awards went to: Emily Andersen, Julie Hofer, Brianna Namuth, Tim Drowne, Killian Roehr, and Tyler Pace – congratulations!!”
In Principles of Technology class, students were tasked with creating Rube Goldberg project. Students had to use miscellaneous objects to create five different movements to solve a problem without human inference after the start. FBLA sponsored a Pie in the Face Contest during Homecoming week to raise money for the March of Dimes. Throughout the week students put money into teacher’s containers and also bought tickets for the opportunity to be the person to give the teacher the pie. The teacher who raised the most money was Mr. Christensen and the student picked to give the pie was Riley Mitchell. Thank you to the teachers who participated and the students who donated money. Fifty dollars will be donated towards the March of Dimes.
Congratulations to our Softball Team.
They went 2-1 to receive runner up honors for the 2nd year in a row.
They defeated Syracuse 2-1 and Raymond Central 8-4 in 8 innings.
They were defeated by Wahoo 6-8. The Pioneers’ record is now 13-7.
We have a home game tonight vs Johnson County, a home game on Thursday vs Ashland-Greenwood and a triangular at home on Saturday vs Wisner-Pilger and West Point-Beemer.

“I teach , what’s your super power?” Third and Fourth grade teachers at Fort Calhoun Elementary prepared to get students excited for a new school year. The children were each given a card taped to their desks that read “I LEARN, what is your super power. ” The teachers explained that each of them has the power to learn, to work hard, to be responsible, to be kind. Those are all important powers that they are going to build on this year. Then, each student created their own masks and capes to wear.
